Angkor Wat, Cont'd

The crowds gather for sunrise at Angkor Wat...

...site employees...

...Korean(?) tourists...

...old women with cute hats...

...Japanese men with funny socks...

...tourists on one side...

...and monks on the other.

The Bayon temple.

Weird face, one of many covering the towers of the Bayon temple.

One of many piles of original stones,
numbered and waiting to be assembled in their original order.

With April, in front of some random temple.

These sinister-looking children asked me to take their photo,
then tried to charge me (I didn't oblige).

Terrace of the Elephants.

An example of the work involved in restoration.

They have to assemble the surviving original stones, patch the gaps
with new replicas and then weather the new pieces to match the old.

These monks wanted their photo made with this girl from Singapore. In return,
she and April (who'd taken the photo for them) made them pose for a lot of shots.

Ta Prohm (the "Tombraider" temple).
